Visit Kyoto Gyoen National Garden. Eventhough already late April, there are still some cherry blossoms blooming, The gardens are lovely and are worth a visit. They are very beautiful and well looked after. This is a great place for a long walk. You can walk on the fine gravel of the main 'road ways' (bad for sandals) or on the grassy paths under the trees (my preference).
