MCO - Blessed to be a Blessing

During the Movement Control Order (MCO), we noticed that many orphanages and care centres for the elderly are in need of foods and necessities.  So we try to do our part to share some blessing to the elderly at the Little Sisters of the Poor.

The Little Sisters of the Poor is the home for the aged located at Batu Lanchang Lane in Air Itam, Penang.  It was founded in 1952, on a site donated by prominent philanthropist Aw Boon Par and Madam Teh Ah Lan.

Birthday Celebration during lock down is very much different as the atmosphere for this year is not at Restaurant but through food delivery.

We ordered Chicken Mushroom Pie, Carbonara [an Italian pasta dish from Rome made with egg, hard cheese, cured pork, and black pepper] and Creamy Mushroom Chicken Chop from Piccolo Cafe Penang.

PRAYER the exercise of FAITH

Prayer is one of the exercises of our Christian life that requires more discipline, perhaps, than any other exercise of faith.  We confess that “prayer is the most important part of the thankfulness that God requires of us.” John Calvin called it “the chief exercise of faith.” [Institutes of the Christian Religion]

When you're being prayerless; you're not being faithful.  Faith proves itself in prayer.

Prayer is not a duty; it's a privilege and something we can enjoy.

When we say “prayerless,” It does not mean completely prayerless.  I mean relatively prayerless.   I mean that we aren’t anywhere close to “pray[ing] without ceasing”.   We aren’t communing with God in prayer, so prayer feels like a burdensome, boring, perhaps futile exercise that we rush through in a perfunctory way or avoid.  When we do pray, our prayers seem feeble and powerless, which just leads to less praying.  We don’t have it in us “to pray and not lose heart”

"Prayer is the soul's sincere desire unuttered or expressed".  In other words, what you will in your heart is eloquent, and God is always listening to what you are willing, what you are determining to do, and what you plan.

Staying At Home - Trusting God

If you are told to stay at home 🏡 do not be discourage or angry ... *think about Noah and his family*. 

Noah and his family have to stay for about a year in the Ark without being able to leave, in the middle of nowhere and in the middle of a vast ocean, in an unprecedented construction that had never been done.  They only heard the rain falling and constantly felt the ark moving.  There were no windows, no balconies, no terraces, no internet, no phone, no video calls and no streaming.  But you know what?  God took care of them.   So let us not doubt our Father God, He will also take good care of us because He is always, always with us.  

SIX REASONS WHY WE MUST TRUST GOD

He Will Fight For You - Exodus 14:14  The Lord himself will fight for you. Just stay calm.

He Is Your Refuge - Psalms 62:6-8  He alone is my rock and my salvation, my fortress where I will not be shaken. My victory and honor come from God alone. He is my refuge, a rock where no enemy can reach me. O my people, trust in him at all times. Pour out your heart to him, for God is our refuge. 

He Has A Plan For You - Jeremiah 29:11  For I know the plans I have for you,” says the Lord. “They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope. 

He Is Always With You - Matthew 28:20  Teach these new disciples to obey all the commands I have given you. And be sure of this: I am with you always, even to the end of the age.”

Out there is an ocean of viruses but our God will be watching over us! Take courage! 😆🙏
